Personal Branding Photography, Wedding Photographer Bedfordshire

This is the very talented Jack Montague, a wedding photographer based in Bedfordshire. It was a real pleasure to work on Jack’s personal branding photography for his business. Jack has always loved photography and has now turned his passion into his career. He is the first one to admit that he is now completely obsessed with wedding photography and is always pushing himself to push his creativity further. It was great fun to work with Jack to capture photographs of him in action that he could use to market his photography business.

The golden hour is such a wonderful time to capture portraits, especially wedding portraits. It was the perfect time to capture images of Jack in action, as if he were capturing those beautiful sunset portraits at a wedding.

Jack is a natural with a camera, you can see how happy holding a camera makes him even when just pretending to take a shot. He has incredible attention to detail and a real passion for his craft.

Best Friends

One of my favourite afternoons on the tea estates in Maskeliya, Sri Lanka.

For ten hours a day these women pick tea barefoot underneath the red hot sun. With big smiles and welcoming gestures they beckoned me towards them, inviting my lens into their world. Little English was spoken, but a lot of laughter had as they posed for the camera, carefully reviewing each and every snap I took of them. A lovely encounter with a delightful pair.

Behind the Scenes

The preparation before the two-night festival of Navam Perahera, in Colombo Sri Lanka.

Off the main processional streets hundreds of Sri Lankan performers rehearse and prepare for the upcoming two-night festival of Navam Perahera. First celebrated in 1979 it has become one of Sri Lanka’s biggest and most extravagant Pereheras. Held on the February Poya, the procession begins at the Gangaramaya Temple and travels around Viharamahadevi Park and Beira Lake in Colombo.

One More Game

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in Sri Lanka. Boys and young men take every opportunity to practice the game they love from dawn until dusk.

Boosa Beach, Sri Lanka.

As odd as it sounds this is a picture I tried my hardest not to take. While watching the beautiful sunset on Boosa beach in Sri Lanka I made a conscious decision to push my DSLR camera out of reach to be present in the moment and soak in my surroundings with my wonderful partner Jo. The composition however was developing in front our eyes, Sri Lanka’s strong association with cricket partnered with it’s well known stunning beaches. Itching to take the photo but committed to sharing the moment it wasn’t until Jo said “that’s an incredible image…why are you not taking the picture?” that I ran off to beat the sunset to compose the photograph. Sometimes there are moments that just need to be captured! Thank you Jo!
